WHY LED-FREE BRASS?

Human beings have been exposed to serious interactions with many toxic metals as industrial activities increased. Some of these toxic effects were known, other part comes to light with technological developments. Lead, one of the other part, has entered our daily life in many ways. The usage areas of lead are tried to be reduced with technological developments. The main goal of scientists has been eliminate lead from materials containing lead for health of nature, environment and above all our childiren that our future. Brass alloy (Copper 60 - 40% Zinc) is used extensively in taps, pumps, valves and armatures. This lead content is dissolved by the naturally or treated water. Today, the permitted limit value of lead, which is very harmful to human health, is 10 parts per billion (10 ppb, 10 micrograms / liter). Commercial brasses containing high lead can never achieve this limit value. Lead is added to water installation brass for workability and sealing. Nowadays, alternative material additives (Bi and Si) have been able to provide the same properties and replace lead.
